About UsA Personal Story Hi, my name is Rick Beam, I own Empire Home Loan Corporation. It all started in 1992 when i got laid off from Hughes Aircraft in El Segundo. At the same time I had major knee surgury and was not able to work. I decided to leave southern California and move to Grass Valley. To make a long story short. I became a loan agent and in all modesty, I was pretty good. I founded Empire Mortgage in 1994 ( a little later Empire Home Loan Corporation) and after becoming a mortgage broker, I began adding loan agents. I was actually the loan processor for several of my first loan agents. There have been ups and downs through the years. I've been a mortgage banker, opened a wholesale subprime office in Las Vegas and had my share of net branches. One of the greatest things you can learn in life are the things that you don't want to do. I have learned alot about the things I don't want to do. So I have settled down and I am content. Along with learning what you don't want to do, you learn what you want to do. I want to work with nice honest people. I want to do what is right. I want to be successful but not just to raise my standard of living. I want to give back, to help those that are hurting. (Ask me about the project that is underway in South Sacramento) Well, that's it for the personal story.
